ATI Installs Mass Notification System at Valero's Montreal East Terminal Using 900 MHZ FHSS Wireless Links
June 30, 2014
Acoustic Technology, Inc. today announced that a wireless Mass Notification System has been deployed at Valero Energy in Montreal, Canada.
The Valero Montreal East Terminal connects to the Jean Gaulin Refinery in Lévis, Quebec, via the Pipeline Saint-Laurent. It also has a switching yard for handling rail shipments and connections to port facilities for oil tankers on the Saint Lawrence River. This terminal is a main distribution center for the Montreal area, with millions of gallons of petroleum flowing in and out per day.
Valero needed a new and reliable Mass Notification System capable of alerting people in case of emergency. ATI was able to fulfill this need with advanced engineering and communications capability.
“This type of sophisticated spread spectrum radio is only one of many possible communication paths that have been successfully used in ATI-installed emergency warning systems,” said Claudia Markovich, Global Development Manager. “This flexibility in communications, along with ATI’s powerful electronic sirens and sophisticated software, helps us provide the best solution for each customer.”
