ATI Receives Safety Act Designation For Its Mass Notification Systems and Services

BOSTON, MA (PRWEB) MARCH 12, 2015

Acoustic Technology, Inc. (ATI Systems), the world leader in Mass Notification systems, today announced that it has been awarded Safety Act Designation from the US Department of Homeland Security for its mass notification equipment, systems, and services. At this time, ATI is the only listed supplier with Safety Act Designation for mass notification equipment as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT).

Enacted into law in 2002, the Safety (Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology) Act provides businesses with incentives for the development of anti-terrorism technologies, by ensuring that the liability risks do not discourage companies from developing and deploying products that can help save lives and property as a result of large-scale events of terrorism. Safety Act Designation provides end users and subcontractors where ATI’s Mass Notification Systems are deployed with a high level of protection and reduced liability for claims due to acts of terrorism. In order to award Safety Act Designation, the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Safety Act Implementation conducts a detailed review and evaluation of the company’s experience, quality procedures, deployments, and the demonstrated capabilities and effectiveness of the technology.

“Delivering the most complete and comprehensive set of mass notification products and services for communities, schools, industrial plants and the US Department of Defense is our company’s foundation,” said Tarek Bassiouni, Business Development at ATI. “Receiving SAFETY Act Designation extends and enhances our focus on quality and customer satisfaction with the addition of liability protection backed by the US government.”
